The Black Queer Creative Summit is the first-of-its-kind in-person event, specifically geared towards empowering, educating, and training emerging Black LGBTQ+ creatives across five sectors of the entertainment industry.
The Summit spotlighted, celebrated, and curated professional growth opportunities for Black LGBTQ+ creative leaders, fostering a pipeline for the next generation of Black LGBTQ+ artists through event keynotes, fireside chats, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.
I partnered with GLAAD to create the visual identity for the summit across print and digital.
SETTING THE TONE
“What could the future look like for Black queer folks?”
The first step was to set the tone for the summit by designing the flyer encouraging Black Queer Creatives to apply. The flyer represents creatives in five different sectors of the film industry: executives, creatives, behind-the-scenes, on-screen talent, and music supervision.
COLOR PALETTE
The concept for the summit is inspired by a sense of joy, Afrofuturism, celebration, and overall vibrant energy that’s reflected in the color palette, which is meant to be reminiscent of the pride rainbow but in ethereal hues that lend themselves to optimism and possibilities.
